Update August 7, 2023
What a joy it is to share with you that, in yesterday’s Congregational Meeting, 241 members of GTCC voted unanimously to concur with the recommendation of the Pastor Search Committee to call Reverend Matthew Miller as the Pastor of Greentree Community Church! The unanimous vote represents our trust that God was leading our spiritual family through the men and women serving on the Pastor Search Committee. Tremendous gratitude was expressed for the committee and the time, energy, and prayer they poured into the search for our next Lead Pastor. We appreciate the committee’s dependence on the Lord throughout the last two years as the members worked diligently behind the scenes for the good of our church. We also shared our thankfulness for the pastors God has blessed us with over the life of the church thus far. We recognize and are grateful for the impact and legacy of our founding Pastor, Tom Ricks. And, with a standing ovation from the congregation, we showed our appreciation for Dan and Debbie Doriani, who have served us so well during this time of transition.
We eagerly look forward to this next season of life and ministry at Greentree. We are excited to welcome the Miller family to St. Louis and to Greentree. Please join me in praying for Matt, Brandy, Arden, Levi, Silas, and AnnaCaris as they face many goodbyes, transitions, and changes in the weeks ahead. Let’s praise God together for his goodness and his faithful provision for our church.

Dear Greentree Family,
Your Pastor Search Team is filled with joy and gratitude to introduce you to Rev. Matthew Miller, our recommended candidate to be called as Greentree’s next Lead Pastor.
Matt has served as Senior Pastor at Woodland Presbyterian Church in Memphis for nearly 14 years, demonstrating leadership and compassion through difficult transitions and impacting his community with a heart for discipleship. Matt’s wealth of experience includes leading the Beirut Mission Team for his Presbytery, transitioning his congregation from PCUSA to EPC, and leading a $3.3 million building campaign with a campus including a school of 350 children. He is committed to racial reconciliation, working with both the Shalom Project and the Memphis Christian Pastors Network, who seek to forge relationships among pastors and congregations across racial lines.
Matt is husband to Brandy, and father to four children: Arden (18), Levi (16), Silas (13), and AnnaCaris (10). He is passionate about serving in a way that allows his family to flourish and draw closer to God, supporting Brandy’s love for teaching and mentoring, and his children’s love for athletics (he can often be found coaching on the soccer field himself!).
We are confident that Matt’s love of the Lord, passion for discipleship, connection to our vision, and gifts as an expository preacher and strategic leader will make him a great fit for Greentree.

Matt and his family will be at Greentree to meet with us in person on Sunday, July 30, before our congregational vote on Sunday, August 6. Please mark your calendars with both dates–we hope to have as many of you present as possible!
